As a school that prides itself on its small personised size, we at the North West Christian School, value the personalisation of all learning. The division of our school into three distinct learning phases of Primary, Middle and High School further personalises the uniqueness of our educational delivery to each and every one of our students.

In each child’s development in our school’s continuum, our Middle School is the second phase of learning. It occurs at a time of fundamental physical and emotional changes. During this time students need to be connected emotionally and socially as well as intellectually to remain engaged. It is easy for students to ‘fall through the cracks’ during this time in a traditional school setting and we believe the learning in Middle School focuses on encouraging and supporting students to negotiate the curriculum according to their interests and passion.

Our Middle School at delivers a curriculum that is carefully designed to challenge students in meaningful and relevant ways, while still being fun and engaging. It is a blend of the personal connection that has been established in the past with the Primary school combined with a vibrant, nurturing environment where children develop a love for learning. Programs, taught by highly dedicated and passionate staff, are innovative and up-to-date. Our staff believe that all children are unique and full of potential, catering for different learning styles, talents and abilities that children have.

Our students in Middle School are taught the eight learning areas of the Australian Curriculum: English, Mathematics, Science, Health and Physical Education, Humanities and Social Sciences, The Arts, Technologies and Languages.

LEARNING

During the Middle years our students are with a provided with a core teacher who oversee students well-being across Academics, Spiritual growth and Social and emotional development. Students are also exposed to specialised teachers for a range of elective subjects as well as sport and the music program.
